Akintunde Akinnifesi, better known as Banks, is a British singer-songwriter born in London. Banks first came to prominence with the release of his debut mixtape "Ghetto Love" in 2011. His breakthrough single "Beggin" was released in 2012 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song was later certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales of 60,000 copies
Banks' debut studio album, "Gangster" (2013), peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and was nominated for Best British Newcomer at the 2014 BRIT Awards. It was preceded by lead single "Beggin" which went on to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart.
